I thought the game idea turned great! What I didn't like was the slow part of the game, I could see that you tried to tackle this problem with adding the SHIFT "frame-skip", I'm used to playing games where the main objective is upgrade, but I think that getting the initial upgrade takes too much time, if you take a look on "Learn to fly" it could give you some ideas
Other thing, the first time I lost the game I didn't saw that it was because of gas, I recommend showing an alert the first time you're running out of gas, and I think the Hud is a bit too hidden
I enjoyed this game! Got to the last ship. Very well-done, neat models and gamplay. My main disappointment, however, was that I didn't manage to damage anyone. All the cannon balls went past the ships. Is it intended?
The small boat is the only one I've managed to sink. The others, I've made too strong, and when they have 1/2 health they run back to the beach to get repaired.
Ahhh, gotcha. I only tried shooting the big ones and there was no visual feedback for cannon balls, that's why I thought it wasn't working. I've also noticed that the first ship stage was a bit too long. So some rebalancing would make the game more fun for sure.
